After Greg and his spouse Kai broke up with blue-haired Billie in November 2016, they began uploading videos judging if they would date girls who submitted their photos to Onision XYZ based on appearance. In one of these videos, Kai mentions he has a thing for girls with blue hair.
Afterword, a good number of Kai and Greg's loyal followers dyed their hair blue or talked about plans to dye their hair blue. There was also an increase in catfish twitter accounts using stolen pictures of blue-haired women who were attempting to get Greg and Kai's attention.
