Throughout all of Onision's YouTube career, it was known his audience consisted mostly of teenagers. This was apparent by reading comments and social media posts by his audience and from bi-annual polls he would run on different platforms. Onision also consistently opened Onision Forums for fans to contact him and talk amongst each other. From its first iteration until October 2017, the forums had no age restriction for joining. Onision would ask his fans to vote in "How old are you?" polls every couple of years. These polls would be run on different platforms he operated. Throughout the years he ran these polls, they would consistently reveal his audience was mostly around the age of 16.

Onision's YouTube audience demographic has been a topic of interest throughout his career and after. When it is brought up in casual conversation, Onision acknowledges his audience was mostly teenagers. (Source) When his demographic is brought up by a critic, he will default to claiming his audience was adults and point to his YouTube channel analytics that show his audience was mostly above the age of 18. At one point he claimed YouTube's analytics were more "scientific" compared to his own polls. (Source)
If a YouTuber has an underage audience, it is impossible for Google/YouTube's analytics to reflect their true audience age demographics. YouTube requires users be 13 to make an account. Anyone who is under 13 and is viewing videos either lied about their age, is using someone else's account who is over 13, or they are not logged in. No one under the age of 13 is accounted for in Google's analytics and are pushed into older age brackets. Another reason is many people who are 13-17 years old deliberately lie about their age when signing up for a YouTube account because there are many videos that are age restricted to viewers who are over the age of 18.
Onision admitted in an interview YouTube's analytics might not be accurate because some people watch videos without even making an account. (Source)
